My #1 most recommended iPhone photo editing app Snapseed is free right now on the App Store. I use Snapseed 99% percent of the time in my post-processing workflow. The app is consistently updated with new tools and features. If I was lost on a deserted island and could only have my iPhone and one photo editing app, I’d choose Snapseed. Other than retouching or masking, this app does it all. If you don’t already own it, I highly encourage you to get it while it is free. If you miss the sale, get it anyway at full price, you won’t be disappointed.

Gosh! I bought at full price 4 days ago ^_^; Bad timing >_< But I am really happy with it!
You can’t lose with Snapseed, at any price. (If you paid, well, you’re supporting the developer of a quality app.)
I’d give it a solid 90%. I can only find a couple of minor weak points. One: limited, mannered textures (that now pretty much say, “Edited in Snapseed”). Loading your own would rock. Another: piecemeal controls, some with partial ranges. For instance, even though Vintage and Grunge are similar, the control sets differ: Vintage lacks a contrast control, both lack Tune Image’s ambience, and Grunge–of all the modules that would benefit from it–doesn’t allow negative contrast adjustment.
But enough quibbling (and trust me–NikSoft has been notified)! I remember the (sweet–and rare) “app high” I got when I first fired Snapseed up. Selective Adjust nearly made me fall over.
Cheers,
Nick
p.s. Two of my latest app-highs: XnView FX (free, unbelievably!) There is just something special about his app, how it feels, and what it does to images. Great interface, flexibility, and offers effects no one else has. Great for basics to wild. Stable as hell, with the exception of Gammacon, which crashes it on my iPhone & iPad. Worth 10 bux to me.
Also: Jazz. Incredibly, incredibly flexible, useful, and inspiring (aside from its goofy jazz theme). Controls similar to Subsplash’s Luminance, but with a better workflow and layout. Killer App in the app: X and Y offset controls for textures! Every single texture app dev needs to take a note off of Jazz on this.
Is this ever going to happen again? I really would like to get it, but I am out of itunes money!
Snapseed has been on sale 3 or 4 times in the past year. So yeah, it’ll happen again and when it does I’ll post here and tweet it.
